BIGGS

What’s changed for the band over the past three years since the release of your last album?

The biggest change is that we have a new bass player in Justin Biggs. He joined already right after
the release of the fire king album but did not contribute there. On LOTI he has written both riffs
and lyrics which is cool. Also, we feel the songs are more varied on this album than on the previous
one.

Has the band’s approach to songwriting changed, if so why?

We really wanted to make an awesome album and so we choose the songs out of 14 songs down to
the 9 that are on the album (bonus track nr 10 Hellfire mixed by Max Norman on the special box
set edition) we had some great music and it was tough to choose. As I said earlier, we wanted to be
more varied than we’ve been before which I think we succeeded in doing. Other than that, we
worked in the same fashion as the earlier albums. We recorded the drums at Solna Sound
Recordings again and the rest in our own studios. Mixing handled again by the awesome Ronnie
Björnström.

EPIC

Why did you decide to focus on the Inquisition for your new album?

The battle between good and evil is a classic subject and we felt that our music needs an epic
touch, it’s how we write so the first song written was The Hammer Of Witches and after that we
decided to do a conceptual record. It’s not a story that runs through the record from song 1 to 9
but they all revolve around the same subject. A little bit of truth in there but mostly just fiction
around the 16 th century burnings.

Do you have a favourite song from the new record?

It’s hard to pick one but if I must right now it’s “Condemned”. It shows Sorcerers sound and how
we write music in a perfect way. Dynamic music and vocals.

WHAT WORKS

VIRUS

Has the coronavirus impacted your plans for the record or touring? If so, how are you coping with the impact?

The virus is hitting everyone of us in a hard way, no one is spared in any way. We try to focus on
promoting our release on the 29 th of May as good as possible of course there are cancellations and
postponements but there is nothing we can do about that we just hope that the promoters survive this ordeal and that we will be able to get out and play as soon as possible.
