LIKE MINDED PEOPLE

What inspired the formation of the band?

We first started playing together when we were just teenagers and the inspiration was just to play the music we liked with like-minded people. The ethos of the band has never changed since then.

Why Do You Play The Music That You Do?

It’s the music that comes out of us when we write. Obviously, we have our influences which inspire the writing but we never had an agenda to sound a certain way or to not sound a certain way. The process of “finding our sound” has been very organic to us.

CONCEPT

How do you go about writing songs? Is there a structured process or is a free for all?

In the earlier stages of writing I would say its more of a free-for-all which then tends to take shape afterwards. Although as we’ve been developing its been more important for us to have a concept to meditate on beforehand to help with both the music and lyrics, that way there is a consistency to the “batch” of ideas/songs that are created. We write in view of the album more than the individual song, that being said I think each part needs to be as strong.

Were there any themes that you wanted to explore on your latest album ‘Voices From The Dust?’ IF so what were they and why did you want to explore them?

“Voices…” is a story within it’s own world and an allegory which reflects a lot of our history. There are lots of themes which weave through the album. One of the most prominent is the corruption that exists within mankind. The theme is explored corporately and on an individual level. It causes one to look inside and see that our very natural is flawed.

WHAT WORKS

STANDARD ARRANGEMENT

How do you transpose the songs you write to a live setting?

Most parts of the songs are written to be played live with a standard arrangement; the more theatrical sections are easily reproduced by consolidating the layers that were recorded.

What plans do you have for the future?

Our plans are to do more shows especially further afield. We’ve also started coming up with ideas for the 4th album so we’ll be working on that too.
