“The Shadowwork,” rumbles into being, a thrashing and maddening song that weaves a web, flattening the listener with sheer energy and darkness. The perfect opening song, to get the black mass to. “Blades of Betrayal.” snarls through the chaos of the wind. A thrashing rhythm produces something dark and chaotic. Flattening the listener into something that could be best be described as a linkaging monster. “Fang and Fur,” a song that has echoes of some metal classics, rolled together to produce a thundering monster of a song that shifts through the winding pathways of the mind. “Violence (Is Golden),” takes charge and gallops through the winding monster of the human mind. Breaking through whatever boundaries might previously have existed, it takes a turn here and there to snarl into the abyss. “The Trap,” slows things down into a gallop, building on the old edge and ensuring the listener knows that there is an added element of complexion there.

“No Refuge,” slows down the pace a little, allowing for moments of reflection and pause. The reflection doesn’t last, as the brutal onslaught begins with the hammering away of simple elements, to destroy the world into one being. “Spirit Reaper,” beats down the listener, ensuring that they are captivated completely by the sight before them, hooked on the pass and the ledge. “You All Leave,” a song that fills the listener with dread and decay, whilst also providing some of the catchiest melodies. “Ravnfell,” soars on gilded wings and produces a fitting finish.

The album is out on 13th September via Metal Blade Records.
