“The Voight Kampff Situation,” starts off this new album by Lord Vigo, with a ticking clock, and whispers of something major about to land. Something dark and impressive.

“Danse de Noir,” the title track of the album is filled with huge riffs and a pounding rhythm. A song that combines an ever changing melody with a biting vocal line. A song that will be sure to go down in the metal canon as a classic.

“Are You Human,” takes on a darker tack. Shifting ever so slightly to the sci fi bent, it twists through the world and ensures the darker edges of humanity come crawling out.

“The Verge Of Time,” creeps out with a fat riff. This is  song that would make Sabbath proud, the synths add an extra layer to proceedings. The vocals are impressive.

“Fiery The Angels Fell,” is an impressive interlude. Adding a sense of foreboding to proceedings.

“Shoulder of Orion,” gets really heavy. That added melodical composition on top is just the cherry on the cake. The whole song is structured in such a manner as to make it highly impressive.

“And Then The Planets Will Align,” is just perfect. The guitar harmonies, the drums, everything just fits perfectly, slowly weaving a pathway into the abyss for all to see.

“Between Despair and Ecstasy,” is fast and furious. A song that carries massive weight and really sings into being.

“As Silence Grows Old,” rocks the boat and then delivers a snapping performance to smash down the boundaries.

“Memento Mori,” finishes things off perfectly. The right blend of heaviness and darkness for the time.

This album has some serious grooves. It’s sure to get people moving. Be sure to get it when it is released on 10th April via High Roller Records.
