What inspired the name of the band? What are your influences and are they the same as when you started out?
Good evening,
The name appeared during a composing process for the first album. It is all about the Legend of the white wolf, written first as Vahia/Wahia . It was my way to translate the murmurs I got from « Up there ». And then the lyrics came. It is years after this that I got confirmation that Wahia means the wolf in Cherokee: such a « coincidence »;) I always have been really connected with the First Nations Culture from North of America since my childhood.
Anyway, Universe rules our hearts and spirits so this story is so full of Everything that everyone started to call me VAYA all the time and it is now even my official Last name:)))

How do you approach songwriting and why?
Songwriting is always approaching me. I gave up so many times but it always came back on my table. It sticks to my blood:D So I can write the whole day lyrics and Music parts are running in my mind all he time. It can be exhausting but it is so beautiful to feel being a part of Creation; I feel blessed.
I don’t know:DDDDDDDDD Honestly. Exploring music or simply translating what is « waving » in your soul it is kind of a non ending process. The Music some how appears by itself and I try my Best to bring it to Earth with the « tools » I have. I will even learn new stuff as I do today because I feel that is what the next albums are asking to me:)

The first album was quite easy. We just add some parts to empower the studio version. The actuals second album, for me it was a nightmare to understand. Hopefully my music partner opened to me a door on new tools to explore so we were able to perform those pieces because in reel time I should normally triple myself to be on different instrument at the same time:))))

What plans do you have for the future?
Today? I really don’t know. I will be honest. From last winter an uncommon flow caught me and I felt changing completely of dimension, level, chapter of Life.
So I sold my property, moved and went back to Toronto and starting to study new stuff on guitar and piano. I just go with the flow with some kind of blind and confident intuition.
Crazy, hein?
And we normally will perform VAYA BRUTAL in November in Town ( Toronto). I need to feel the stage again;)
