What inspired the name of the band? What are your influences and are they the same as when you started out?

The name, The Noble Front, is inspired from the face we show to the world every day. Everything is fine. Everything is golden. No issues. The music ties in with this in the sense that it is the true expression of our feelings, emotions and frustrations.

My influences are primarily bands from the grunge scene (Alice in Chains, Soundgarden etc.) and heavy metal (Pantera, Sepultura).

Why and how do you write what you write?

I write when I’m inspired. I find listening to new music inspires me, among other things. It can be any genre, actually, so long as it motivates me to create. Then, once I’m in that “zone”, I tend to begin by messing around loosely with riffs on the guitar. When I happen upon something that may have potential, I build around it as best I can (verse, bridge, chorus, drums, vox etc.). The hardest point is at the end of this process, when there’s the bones of a song that simply will not make the cut and has to get the chop. I find it difficult to cut songs and tend to get sentimental quickly!

I would describe my music as the absolute sonic version of myself! I love hard, heavy riffs and drums, raw and genuine vocals and lyrics. It’s the type of music I’ve grown up with, that’s shaped me into who I am, surrounded me with the friends I have today. And I’m still discovering amazing bands and records out there, from the past and present.

Live?

We are finalising our live setup as we speak. The debut record, The Noble Front, contains a number of hard-hitting, abrasive, raw tracks that will take centre stage for our live shows. 4 musicians on stage with loud amps and a big kit will be enough for those! After that, the more introspective, emotional tracks like Tired & Down and 801 will need further planning.

What plans do you have for the future?

Firstly, finalise the band line-up and arrange some shows. Promote this first record which came out at the beginning of the year. Begin to write and finish some tracks that have been in the pipeline. Keep growing, moving and evolving.
