What inspired the name of the band? What are your influences and are they the same as when you started out?

It wasn’t anything clever to be honest – I (Nath) always felt like a bit of a loner growing up, so it seemed quite easy. Our influences as a band come mainly from rock music or anything guitar related. Growing up listening to the likes of the Stones, The Beatles, Buddy Holly and Queen while also listening to 90s grunge and Britpop.

Why and how do you approach songwriting?

Again, this usually happens when I (Nath) don’t even try. Which in itself is a bit of a blessing…one less thing to try and think about. Usually, I am overthinking something in bed, not able to sleep around 3am and then I will just think of lyrics. Or if I find something quite interesting, I like to write about that and try and be very clever about my lyrics.

I think this is mainly due to our influences and the sound we have developed as a band. I think when you listen to our songs, we definitely have a pattern of how we write and play and I am quite fond of this now, as it is “our” sound.

How do you decide what to play live?

When we are at rehearsals, we usually pick what we are enjoying at that time. There have been times where we have “fallen out of love” with a song, so we drop it from the set. But we always keep the songs which do well or the songs which we have released as singles, as that is what the fans know. We’d be daft to leave them out of our set list!

What plans do you have for the future?

Definitely get a record recorded, if not, minimum an E.P. and get on the road and tour again. Now that covid seems to have disappeared (or has it?) we want to travel the country and get some more festivals under our belt. This is the best job in the world, and we want to meet new people and new bands.
