What inspired the name of the band? What are your influences and are they the same as when you started out?
At the very first days of the Standing Crew there were just a guitarist and a bassist. They had have a band but the other players had quitted. They thought that they are always the guys who are the “Standing Crew” when the others have left the band.
The influences of the band are the 1980’s and 1990’s hard rock and punk bands and all the clichés of pure rock and roll from all the times. And all this we are going to do with our own twist!
How do you approach songwriting and why?
The song writing begins usually when some of us get some riff or theme and start to play it. Somebody writes the lyrics. Then we go ahead with the ideas by playing and jamming. That sounds simple but it always takes time to get all the pieces together and have a song that sounds like we want it sounds!
We are thinking about that it isn’t any kind of space science to write good rock’n roll songs. Of course, the problems in relationships as well as fight between good and bad are good themes for song writing. Little drama in your life can inspire you to be lyricist.
It is very simple – we like it!! The main thing of music is that you like it and have a good feeling when playing and singing. The bonus is when some one else likes it too.

What plans do you have for the future?
Now we are writing new songs for the upcoming album and spending time to rehearsing with the new line-up for the upcoming gigs. We are having a couple of gigs during the summer and more is coming later on this year. The album is coming out at the end of the year 2023 or at the beginning of the year 2024! Then we are going to plan some tours outside of Finland too.
