What inspired the name of the band? What are your influences and are they the same as when you started out?

We got the name when we were trying to decide on a name. Sam and I started arguing pretty hard for our choices and things got a little out of hand. I couldn’t even tell you what his or my name idea was but we started swinging we got so heated. He popped me really good, made my nose bleed. I said “oh you think you can be a Red Maker on me?” Doesn’t make all that much sense, my brain was probably pretty shook at the time. For some reason we liked that enough that it stuck.

How do you approach songwriting?

We all bring in stuff and whoever brings in that material, is labeled the song daddy. It’s a rule we have where whoever brings it in is to have the final say as to how a song should go. They have to lead the song to what vision they have for the song. Helps keep any tyrants from ruling over every song with an iron fist and gives people a fair chance to get their creative ideas out there.

Why do you write the sort of music that you do?

Sometimes we all need someone to either needs to be given a perspective they’ve never had. Sometimes you need someone to tell you “I’ve been there, I know that feeling”. And that’s something I think we do with our music. We talk about real life. All of its ups and downs, it’s beauty, the ugliness of it all

How do you decide what to perform live?

We tend to make them much more dramatic. Bigger beginnings, more chaotic endings. Giving time for Kyle between sections to do his shredding.

We tend to try to only pick the catchier and more energetic songs to play. I mean why bring filler to the table when you can bring killer.

What plans do you have for the future?

So far it’s gigging, writing, recording, bothering blogs and playlists, rinse lather repeat until we see some movement. Hopefully all leading us down a road that ends in swimming pools full of all the cash in the world.
