What inspired the name of the band? What are your influences and are they the same as when you started out?

Pressure uses their unique melodic ability, razor sharp lyrics and heavy music to deals with the pressures inside, outside, and all around us and of the need and urge to challenge and confront our demons and being able to change our faith.

Sometimes a person who’s left alone with his problems needs to know that he is not alone and that’s where Pressure comes in. We get inspiration from our friends, families, fans and life in general, because so many amazing things are happening out there every day.

How do you approach songwriting and why?

Lately we’ve gotten so deep into the creative process that we’re trying not to limit ourselves, so we can start composing a song with one single phrase or idea, a short piece of music or a sample, and that’s great.

Basically, we only write songs about things we understand well or have experienced ourselves. But sometimes there are themes that require additional study. For example, I am currently writing lyrics about the Swedish Midsummer holiday. I know a lot about this holiday, but I want to know more details and features of the celebration in ancient times. Reading about it helps me a lot and gives a great inspiration.

Our music is a reflection of ourselves. So we keep it diverse. We are not bound to a particular genre, we just like it heavy. We have ballads of course too, cause there will always be calm after the storm. We always look for the right sound to tell the story. So the song can be heavy metal based or have bluesy vibe, we try to challenge ourselves as musicians and never stop improving our skills.

How do you decide what to play live?

Sometimes a song is just made for live performance. You just feel it from the first notes. But at other times the song must “show” itself and earn the love of the fans. We also have favourites among the songs that we just love to perform.

Some of the songs are much more difficult but very good and powerful to perform live, so we have to rewrite some parts, but that only makes the song better.

What plans do you have for the future?

We are currently busy working on the release of our new EP which is based on the theme of demons and medieval battles. It will contain 5 songs forming a short epic battle story between demons and warriors.

We are also planning some shows this year and will announce dates and cities when we are ready.
