What inspired the name of the band? What are your influences and are they the same as when you started out?

The name comes from the 1946 film – It’s a Wonderful Life.

Clarence Oddbody is the name of the angel who saves George Bailey (James Stewart’s character) and then grants him his wish of him never having been born.

It’s one of my favourite films of all time, everyone always goes on about it being a nice Christmas film but, I really feel at times it has a very dark undertone.

Our influences range from 60’s/70’s songwriters, 60’s Motown, 70’s Funk , 60’s & 70’s Hard Rock, Blues, Americana, Jazz….

You name it ……if’s it old we love.

Anything from 1989 backwards.

We have our feet firmly back in the past, most of our heroes are from the 60’s and 70’s.

How do you approach songwriting?

It could be a film, Book or a conversation I over heard.

(mostly on the tube listening to peoples conversations.)

I write lyrics everyday whether it’s a line, paragraph or 10 pages.

And I play everyday as well

So am always thinking ahead.

I just want to keep writing songs better than the ones Before.

most of the time they are day to day relationships , failed love….stuff

Once the song is written I quickly recorded it on my phone and send it to the boys and let them do what they want with it.

They play exactly what’s in my head but ten times better and without me saying anything.

Why do you write the sort of music that you do?

It’s just happens…..I never sit down and say today am gonna write a mellow song or a Heavy Song.

When I feel the spark I just go with it.

Am always writing whether it’s a riff, a line or melody I recorded on my phone.

How do you decide what songs to perform live?

All our songs are recorded live anyway.

So there not much different between studio and Live.

Apart from the odd keys part.

We really like doing two 45 minutes set at the moment.

One Acoustic and One Electric with no break.

If feels like a proper work out.

What plans do you have for the future?

We have our big album launch on the 7th of July at The Strongrooms in Shoreditch- London

Well we Recorded our debut album last November.

“Who Loves You? And Who Do You Love?

We recorded 10 tunes in a day just like The Beatles ….all live mostly going with the 1st or 2nd take.

It was recorded by a good friend of ours JB Pilon at Buffalo Studios in Limehouse, East London and it’s full of vintage stuff it’s definitely the best little studio in London… I highly recommend it.

It was probably my finest day spend in a studio…Ever!

The following day we just did extra guitars and keys It was amazing

It felt like we could take on the world.

The album will be available on July 8th on all good music platforms.

Also our second single from the album is released on the 15th of April.

“Just One More Thing”

It has a Isley Brothers meets Curtis Mayfield vibe with a Rory Gallagher riff.

We will be hitting the road for a small tour of the UK the start of September as well.

Thanks for having us.xx
