FANTASY OPUS_Booklet

Fantasy Opus is back with an incredible new album entitled The Last Dream. Six of the songs on the record make up the opus ‘The Last Dream’ a story about universe generated through the dreams and psyche of an old man. The opening song Ritual Of Blood is the perfect opener filled with soaring vocals, pounding drums and deadlocked guitars, it is the perfect song to get the listener engaged and hooked. Heaven Denied is a similar song, with brilliant riffs and a soaring vocal line that keeps things interesting as a story unfolds. Chosen Ones has strong elements of Symphony X in it with the sweep picking introduction, the big, bombastic vocals and the general epicness of the song. Lust is a softer number, starting with an acoustic guitar melody and gradually evolving into something that would sit well in the middle of the set to get the crowd going and singing along. Conquer The Seas is fast, driving, and epic. The guitars, the vocals all of it is in sync with one another and ensuring that everything moves well. Black Angels is haunting, the spoken intro sets the tempo brilliantly, whilst the instrumentation sets the mood, bringing things into a boiling point.

Every Scar Tells A Story is furious in its delivery, pounding rhythms, sharp and precise vocals and a brilliant riff combine to make this one hell of a song. Perfect Storm is a mix of the slow, casual brilliance of Symphony X and Dream Theater mixed with the harsh pounding riffage of Angra, a mix that goes down incredibly well. Oceans is a mix of harmonised leads, and soaring vocals that enable the band to really show off their skills. This is an album that keeps giving. Realm Of The Mighty Gods is epic, a song that would make Symphony X proud and maybe even a little jealous it delivers on its panache,  bringing sharp vocals, soaring melodies and a brilliant execution. King Of The Dead is the final song on the record, and it is a fitting closer. Dark, sinister, with pounding rhythms, and sharp and precise vocal line.

The album will be out on 8th June, via Puresteel Publishing. Be sure to get it!
