What inspired the name of the band and what are your influences?
DEITRE is the name of the spiritual guide sent to help us attain everything we were destined for. A lot of our influences are from the 80’s & 90’s.
2. How do you approach songwriting? Are there any themes that you are keen to explore when you start off?
We usually jam and let the song reveal itself to us. Once we figure out what it is trying to tell us, we fine tune. A lot of the messages that come out naturally are ones of standing up for what you believe in & fighting for your life.
3. Why do you write the sort of music that you do?
It just is what it is. It’s what comes out. Being a conduit, I need to respect the message.
4. How do you decide what songs to perform live and how do you transpose them into that live setting?
We perform almost all of the songs we have written live. Some are harder to transpose to a live setting than others. Some are still a work in progress.
5. What are your plans for the future?
We plan to release another album within the next year with singles & music videos leading up to it. So stay tuned! 🙂
