What inspired the name of the band? What are your influences and are they the same as when you started out?

The Bind was picked essentially at random from a book, amazingly it worked.

As a trio, we tend to be compared to other three-piece rock bands. We draw inspiration

From as far flung as the Stooges, Pink Floyd, Screaming Trees, and Captain Beefheart.

How do you approach songwriting?

Our song writing musically comes from improvising together and fleshing out parts from those jams. Lyrically, the one who pens the words is usually steering that boat.

At first, we had so much to “say”. Now we just want to connect to you, not ideals

Why do you write the sort of music that you do?

The three of us together just results in our particular sound. We also decided to try and stay away from a lot of slower, down songs. We want our shows to start and just go more and more!!!!

How do you decide what songs to perform live?

Given that most of the songs came from a playing live situation. We’ve found that once they hit the recording studio, that becomes the version of the song. We feel songs can stay organic enough that if a really cool part happens by accident. That may become part of the song for good

What plans do you have for the future?

We are working our studio a bit more before we get to take this out to the people!

As a band we’d really like to get this sound out there, start some parties!
