How did the band come together?

I’ve always been one to look to innovate in heavy metal, not necessarily in the musical department as then you’d lose what makes metal metal, but in other ways. For instance, I had a thought about how Bruce Dickinson, Geoff Tate and Rob Halford aren’t going to form the Three Tremors, so why don’t I? So, I trademarked the name and then thought about who else I was going to get involved in this. I chose Ripper and Harry because they’re from great bands and have a great body of work. So, we got together and started practising and having some fun and found that it worked and that it was unique.

How do you approach songwriting?

So, what happens is that Sean and Casey and I work together, I usually write the lyrics. Then I record a take with the music, and send it to Harry and Ripper, and get them to record their take of the song. Then they send it back to me, and I listen to it and whoever I think sounds good on a particular verse or chorus for instance, that’s taken and we create a completed version that way. It’s worked quite well so far. In terms of performing these songs live, it’s a bit of an adjustment, as sometimes one of us might come in slightly earlier than we’re meant to so we adjust and work it out.  In terms of whether there’s been a change from the first to the second album, I wouldn’t say there’s been too much of change, though maybe more when it comes to performing live.

When we went out on our first tour, we did all 12 songs from the first record, and then songs from each of our own back catalogues, and a few covers. This time we’re doing 7 songs from each record, and 1 cover song. So, we’re really going full throttle with Three Tremors. I think it’ll be great.

Which song best represents the new album?

Oh, wow, that’s an interesting question! I’d have to say “Bonebreaker,” it’s a real solid song. Mid tempo, it’s got all the ingredients that I think make a great song. We’ve covered everything in The Three Tremors, fast songs, slower songs, thrashers, speed metal all of that. We’re a heavy metal band with no agenda, just moving forward and producing great songs. I  think “Bonebreaker,” best represents that. In terms of…you asked what my favourite song is well, I’d have to say “Kryptonian Steel,” because it’s got similar elements to “Bonebreaker,” but also it’s got that comic book/superhero connection that I really like.

What plans have you got for the future?

Our new album Guardians Of The Void is out on 5th November via Steel Cartel. And unlike other bands we’ve only released 3 songs on streaming platforms, so, if fans want to listen to the album they’re going to need to get the physical product or a digital download/copy. We’re really big on the physical medium, we’ve got a lot of bundle options that we’ve developed. For instance, we’ve taken a nod from comic books here, and one of the bundles includes a limited cover whilst another includes the original album artwork without our logo or name, and just the artwork, which I think is pretty cool.

Outside of that, we’re going on tour, and we’re currently in talks for the second leg of North America, so, we’ll see how that goes.
