What inspired the name of the band? What are your influences and are they the same as when you started out?

– My goal was to invent the weirdest name possible. I had a whole page of more or less equally horrid names. I think Radioactive Pineapple was ultimately the best one. Oddly enough, almost all of them had something to do with fruits or food. -Ozzie

How do you approach songwriting?

– The themes that I usually explore tend to revolve around battling against mental issues or life’s everyday struggles. There’s loads to write about when you see the value in ordinary life’s mishaps. I tend to be pretty straight forward with my lyrics and I prefer to avoid obscuring the core message with too artsy or sophisticated vocabulary. Sometimes simplicity conveys the message better. -Ozzie

Why do you write the sort of music that you do?

– That’s a hard question, because it just seems to flow from me and it feels natural. I presume there was a need to express some sort of teenage angst and that’s why I started to write. Otherwise I guess I wouldn’t be doing it. -Ozzie

How do you decide what songs to perform live?

– Usually I just go to the whiteboard, take the marker and shout stfu when everyone’s goofing around. Then we argue whether we change the order of the songs or not and usually we settle with the exact same set as in the previous show. Our recordings are pretty straightforward so the songs don’t change that much in a live setting, although we often play them a little faster because it conveys the energy better. -Jake

What plans do you have for the future?

– We’re dropping our new EP in the late spring or early summer and obviously we want to tour as much as possible to promote it. We’d also like to take our show outside of Finland, first probably Europe and maybe later even the US or Japan. The scene in Finland for this kind of punk rock is not very big so it would be pretty nice to see the world. -Jake
