What inspired the name of the band? What are your influences and are they the same as when you started out?

OMW – Leith Dougan – Bass Guitar
-Leith: the bands name was actually inspired by a lyric in a song by The Academy Is, Our main influences at the time was more of a pop-punk sound and we were closer to bands like All Time Low, Kisschasy, Simple Plan but now I feel like we have moved away from the pop-punk vibe and towards more of a rocky vibe. I feel like we now take inspiration from bands like The Foo Fighters, Bring Me The Horizon, Palaye Royale, Twenty One Pilots and many others.

How do you approach songwriting?

Leith: Connor (Lead singer/rhythm guitar) is the main songwriter in the band. He is very good at working out the entire song, and slotting pieces in the right spots for the arrangement. If there is something there that he doesn’t like he WILL REMOVE IT, He can be very touchy when it comes to telling him something doesn’t work or doesn’t sound right but we love him and he is very very good at what he does.

Why do you write the sort of music that you do?

Leith: We write the music that we feel is the best music you can listen to right now. Something that either makes you wanna dance or headbang your brains out to and everything in between, When people listen to the music that we produce we hope they will enjoy every second of it.

How do you decide what to perform live?

Leith: We tend to go off the ones we enjoy the most, or what we believe are the ones people enjoy listening to the most. Transposing them into the live setting is a little difficult now especially after our newest release “Raindrops” due to all the different sounds and effects but because of our performance we have great ways of recreating it live by getting the crowd more involved with the live performance.

What plans do you have for the future?

-Leith: I think for all of us moving forward to the next step is going to be challenging. We are going to be putting a lot more work into our writing as a band, getting other ideas from other sources which is beginning to happen. Our recording process, and live performances will continue with our aim of building a larger fan base in Melbourne. That’s one of our main goals and whilst I feel we already have a decent fan base, we need to really build on that. We want to experiment more with our recordings. Doing Raindrops was fun and certainly something we want to explore more of in the studio. We already have a plan that we are working through so for us its just a matter of sticking to that plan and building on it. I’m really excited about our future.
