Straight in with a tough question! What was the most rewarding track on ‘Broken Silence’ to put together, and why?

Oh wow, that is indeed a very tough question right at the beginning! You know, it is always hard to pick and choose the “One” song from your own album because there is a special relationship to each tune. But if I have to make a choice – I feel it is the title track. The story is like a movie in my head and the music and vibe fits so so well to back up the main theme of the song.

Which songs did you write first for ‘Broken Silence’, and what can you tell us about the track? Furthermore, which songs from ‘Broken Silence’ are you really enjoying playing live at the moment and why?

I can remember that so well. I was in Spain and usually I have all my song materials with me, you just don’t know when you have that sudden idea – so I want to be ready! Anyhow, in between appointments I had the chance to spend some time on the beach which is always very inspiring for me 🙂 That’s when I almost finished the lyrics for “I AmThat I Am”. The song talks about how good it feels to be authentic, it makes us happy and keeps our hearts open.

Well, I really enjoy all of the songs to be honest, each song is a little different right, we don’t have per se one way to pursue a song. I love playing “Six Times Gone” – it’s a personal story of mine and I love the groove of it and “Broken Wings of Hope” is also important for me, the message – “Why can’t we live in peace” stands for it all!

When recording, how do you go about capturing a sound that will translate well in a live space? And, was that something that you focused on with ‘Broken Silence’?

Well, to capture a tone is the most difficult thing while you are recording. From the first note or beat you are always looking for that perfect tone, the perfect vibe, feeling and special moment. This tone and vibe makes a good song really great! Of course, I love our songs and recordings so I guess we did manage to catch a few of these magic moments to keep it on Broken Silence!

What plans do you have for the future?

We are already working on new song material for a new record and of course besides that there will be some live shows this fall – hopefully also in the UK! We are planning to record a EP in the UK after the summer so a lot to come!

Thanks so much for your support! Keep good music alive!
