What inspired the name of the band? What are your influences and are they the same as when you started out?

Our heavy vocalist Mark was inspired by a book he was reading about how there is something in people and animals that are not learned behavior, instinctual almost. Combined with the Lost state of humanity you get Inherently Lost. Musically our influences are all over the place from older stuff like Sabbath and Motley Crue, to vision of disorder and Fear Factory to more orchestral heavy stuff like Epica and Cradle of Filth.

How do you approach songwriting?

Our approach is to basically throw riffs/songs out there and everyone is free to contribute and build off that. We usually tend to write about some of the darker aspects of modern society without getting too political.

Why do you write the sort of music that you do?

I’ve always like the heavy stuff for the honesty and intensity of it. Hard music for hard times.

How do you decide what songs to perform live?

Most of our current set is from our first album “our last midnight” with our new single unraveling sanity and we have thrown in Motley Crue cover of Red Hot. We are currently perfecting some new songs but want them to be absolutely ready.

What plans do you have for the future?

Other than world domination, future plans are to finish up the new album entitled Art Of Corruption and just continue to grow and bring back some of that Ohiovania heaviness.
