What inspired the name of the band? What are your influences and are they the same as when you started out?

The name was a bit of an accident actually. We were writing a song about having a good time and that line was pounced on by the singer as being a good name for the band as it sums up our mission as a band perfectly!

We have such a strange and diverse taste in music it almost doesn’t make sense that we sound the way we do really. Everything from Dire Straits and MJ to Don Broco and Enter Shikari but I guess the common thread for us is music is best when you feel it deep down and has an overt emotional quality to it.

How and why do you write what you write?

We usually start by piecing together riffs and sections from all over the place in one song session and when we have something that musically makes sense we hand it to Hugo (our singer) who puts some random words and melodies on it. Then we decide what to write the song about.

It is definitely a weird way of going about it and it may well change as I personally love songs where you can tell the words and the story was the most important thing first and foremost.

I think we have all been through our struggles in life (like everyone) and music is the thing that has helped us through in one way or another. There just isn’t anything else when you live and breathe it. You have to do it!

Live?

We play all the songs we write live (eventually) but they are completely recorded on the computer in our home studio before we ever play them in a room. That way we need less rehearsal time to get a song ready top play live and we can also be our usual picky selves with how the song should be before playing it. Occasionally things have to be tweaked for live, but rarely. It is a way a lot of bands work nowadays due to the fact everyone has the ability to record their own songs at home.

What plans do you have for the future?

World domination! 😉

Seriously though, we are putting in the hours and the effort as we want to make this what we do every day. If we have food in the fridge and clothes on our backs and get to write music and perform it for a living then that would be more than enough….not that we would say no to a few 0’s in the bank account!
