ROMANTIC

What inspired the name of the band? What are your influences?

Years ago I was very involved in the practice of freediving, I have always thought that there is something romantic in it. Immerse yourself in an unknown world with just one breath, it’s magical. The band is influenced by the sound of the Seattle music scene of the 90’s from bands like Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam and others, although each of us has our own influences.

How do you approach songwriting? Are there any themes that you are keen to explore when you start off?

All the songs are written and composed by Sergi and I, we work together from the beginning to the end. Generally, some of us have an interesting riff and from there we start working. We create a musical structure and then we work on the lyrics. We do not have a predilection for any specific topic, we tell personal stories, we want to connect with people and we believe that this is a good way to do it.

ISSUES

Why do you write the sort of music that you do?

We talk about issues that touch us very closely, but that we believe are the stories of many people. that makes us feel connected to many people who identify with our songs.

How do you decide what songs to perform live and how do you transpose them into that live setting?

Sergi generally deals with that, and he does it taking into account where we are going to play and what kind of audience we will have. When it comes to transposing them to a live stage, we just give as much energy and shine as possible.

What plans do you have for the future?

We are working on a 6-song EP that we will finish soon, we assume that in the future we will be trying to promote it, of course, depending on the existing situation due to the global pandemic we will have to adopt different strategies. Besides that, we will continue to compose and record.
