What inspired the name of the band? What are your influences and are they the same as when you started out?
A ‘Devon Sandwich’ is a common lunch we used to have back in the day when in school etc. Our influences are mostly punk rock, bands like Misfits, Nofx, The Vandals.
How do you approach songwriting?
Usually just sitting down with an acoustic guitar. I could have a few lines of lyrics I wrote in my phone and normally just go from there.

Why do you write the sort of music that you do?
It’s fun with no expectations. Obviously we want all our songs to be good, but there is something neat about having a 40 second song about something trivial like my Mrs hating Joe Rogan.
How do you decide what songs to perform live?
We just jam at practice and chuck the better songs on the set list. We recently did a cover of Ace of Base – All That She Wants which was fun.

What plans do you have for the future?
Well we just released a new album that is Self-Titled but we have lots more songs that we want to record soon and hopefully a tour down the line.
