MUSIC

What inspired the name of the band? What are your influences?

Music inspires me, The Beatles, Rock n Roll, any tv big with a guitar, a good melody and a great lyric! I have lots of influences from Johnny Cash, to Carrie Underwood, Kings of Leon to The Foals, ALANIS MORISSETTE to Michael Jackson! I love an artist who entertains and puts on a show, cus if I ever got that opportunity at Glastonbury that’s exactly what I would do!

How do you approach songwriting? Are there any themes that you are keen to explore when you start off?

I approach songwriting very open really, I don’t have a set routine, whatever comes first, the melody or the lyrics, but I have to be in a comfort zone to really express my lyrics. Most of my lyrics come from the heart, things I’ve felt or experienced. That’s where the magic happens I suppose!

PIGEON HOLE

Why do you write the sort of music that you do?

I don’t like to pigeon  hole my style of music. I think I write lyrically commercial songs more than anything but that’s because the influences who made me start to want to write when I was 9, (The Beatles, Kinks, Bowie) these people wrote commercial songs, and I feel most comfortable writing this kinda style. It’s pop music!

How do you decide what songs to perform live and how do you transpose them into that live setting?

I mainly look at the style of festival or gig I’m doing, I do like to shake things up, as a songwriter you can do that, because your you, your I don’t have to rely on a band or piss a band member off if you leave someone out! Sometimes I play solely on my own, other times with another guitarist, sometimes with a full band! It keeps things interesting that way!

MORE

What plans do you have for the future?

To release more music and hopefully get back on the road once COVID 19 decides to do one!
