What inspired the name of the band? What are your influences and are they the same as when you started out?

Hello, This is Desi. I’m the leader, producer, songwriter, and lead guitarist for the band. Thank you for having me. The band name was created by Scott (drums). The way he explained it was, he was at a ballgame and they were doing a moment of silence for a member of their organization. He said that he immediately liked the lay on words of “A Moment of Violence”. He told me about using it as a song or EP title. I said that I liked it for the band name. We voted on it, and it was a winner!

Why and how do you write what you do?

well for me, it all starts with the initial riff that is catchy. Sometimes it’s a chorus, or verse, etc. However, I’ll build the song from there. Believe it or not, vocals come last. Once I have a completed musical composition, Alex, Russ (both vocalists) and I will sit down and try to get a grasp on how the song makes us feel. And the rest is history. As a producer and engineer, I’ve always tried to write very cinematic feels within my music. I want the listener to have that feeling. In essence, it’s not just a song, it’s a short story film that they’re listening to. Additionally, heavy music and melodic choruses have always been my type of music to listen to.

live?

Other than having a time limit, we will try to play everything. However, it’s coming to the point where we as a band will pick and choose the songs that we like best. And that I guess would be a voting type of process. As far as executing them live, that all comes from self practice and the week prior, it’s like a boot camp rehearsal week. We just get at it until it’s perfect.

What plans do you have for the future?

We have an immediate plan for departure toward the moon! We recently signed with Wake Up! Music Rocks! Out of South Florida. The partnership has been excellent to say the least. We have release one (Stone Cold Killer) track of five on an EP. The future looks amazing!
